The merry month of May…

Hello, my friends…

I’m sorry that I missed the May 1 update of the blog; we’ve been experiencing a lot of growing pains here at the magazine, and there was a lot of stuff up in the air. I hope that those of you who are Mothers or Daughters - or both!- celebrated the season this past weekend.

This month’s Simplicity block is by Miki & Diane of Miki of Diane Designs, and they have given us a wonderful block to add to the Simplicity quilt. It’s very different from anything else we’ve done on this one, and it adds to the personality that is Simplicity. May, being the month of graduations and celebrations, has run a little behind schedule - our beloved webmistress is taking a family holiday, and she’ll post the block - and the directions, once she’s back early next week. It’ll be worth waiting for, I promise.

This is usually the time I write about what’s coming next. and I can’t do that this month. There are big changes coming to the BOM format in the coming months, and I know I’m excited about them. I can say that those of you who have been requesting applique won’t be disappointed!

We’ll put another post up when the blocks are there…

It’s tax day…

And what better way to reward yourself, than with a new block for Simplicity! This month’s block is from designer Sandy Harris of Sundrop Designs, who’s making her first appearance with us in our Block of the Month series. Sandy has taken me up on my suggestion of adding a mystery fabric - you have to look closely, but it’s definitely there!

We’re still working hard on the plans for the next one - I hope to have much more info shortly to you. In the meantime, if you have questions or suggestions about things you’d like to see in the BOM, email me at BOM@cottonspice.com

We’ll talk soon!
Linda
